Would You Pay $25 To See A New Movie In Your Living Room?

In the lead story in the weekend edition, the Wall Street Journal reported that Time Warner Cable (TWC) and a number of movie studios are in talks for a deal that would offer new movies available on a pay per view basis just 30 days after theatrical release – for $20 to $30 each.

The story says the first movies offered on that basis could be available in early 2011 – or sooner.

Studios that have looked at the proposal, the Journal reports, include Warner Bros., Disney, Universal Pictures, Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures and 20th Century Fox.

Oh, the theater owners are going to love this idea, don’t you think?
