Waste Management Inc. (NYSE: WM) — The largest trash hauling/disposal company in the United States is a model for consistent growth with earnings increasing steadily over many years. The company pays an annual dividend of $1.36 for a yield of 3.54%, and S&P has a “four-star buy” on the stock.
Technically, WM is in a powerful bull channel with support at $37. The resistance at $38.50 was broken with a dramatic thrust through a quadruple-top. Note the accumulation of positive (green) volume and the high volume on the breakout. These are all confirming signs that the stock is headed much higher.
Buy WM as a long-term growth opportunity or with a shorter-term trading target of $45.
