Stocks to watch Thursday: AT&T, Caterpillar

CHICAGO (MarketWatch) � Among the stocks that could see active trade in Thursday�s session are AT&T, Caterpillar and Mead Johnson.

AT&T T �is slated to report its fourth-quarter financials before the opening bell. The telecommunications firm is expected to earn 43 cents a share on revenue of $31.99 billion, according to the average estimate of analysts polled by FactSet Research.

Also due up is CaterpillarCAT �, which should post a profit of $1.77 a share with revenue of $15.95 billion if Wall Street�s best guess is on the mark.

And Mead Johnson MJN �is seen earning 51 cents a share with revenue of $898.9 million. The company hit a rough patch late last month when retailers began pulling one of its infant formula products over fears it could be tied to the death of a Missouri tot. Later testing showed no connection.

Other companies scheduled for quarterly earnings releases include Sherwin-Williams SHW �, Time Warner Cable TWC �and United Continental UAL .

Late Wednesday, shares of SanDisk Corp. SNDK �fell almost 3% after the company reported that its fourth-quarter profit fell 42% to $281 million, or $1.14 a share, on revenue of $1.58 billion.

But LSI LSI �jumped about 9% on after it said it posted a narrower loss and issued a more upbeat outlook.

Netflix NFLX �climbed about 10% after the streaming media service reported a stronger-than-forecast fourth-quarter profit.
